About the Role
As SEO Manager, you will own and lead all organic search efforts to drive sustainable growth in high-intent lead generation for Hometree’s local solar panel and heat pump installation businesses. You’ll set the SEO strategy, manage execution (technical SEO, content, link building, local SEO), and collaborate across teams to ensure SEO best practices are embedded throughout our installer brands’ websites and marketing activity.
This role would particularly suit someone with strong agency-side SEO experience who now wants to move in-house, giving you full ownership of SEO strategy, end-to-end implementation, and the chance to see the direct impact of your work on leads, sales, and brand growth.
You will report to the Head of Performance Marketing and work hybrid (at least 2 days per week in our London office).
Responsibilities
- Develop & Execute SEO Strategy: Lead a holistic SEO strategy encompassing on-page, technical, and off-page initiatives to drive sustainable organic traffic and qualified leads.
- Keyword & Competitor Research: Conduct in-depth keyword analysis, benchmark competitors, and identify content gaps to inform content and optimization efforts.
- Technical SEO Oversight: Perform and manage technical SEO audits, ensuring site speed,indexing, and structured data are optimized in collaboration with development teams.
- Content Optimisation Guide the creation and optimization of high-performing content, including blogs, landing pages, and case studies aligned with keyword and user intent.
- Local SEO Management Optimize Google Business Profiles, local citations, and location-based content to improve regional visibility and rankings.
- Link Building & Outreach Build and maintain a scalable, white-hat link acquisition and digital PR program to strengthen domain authority and brand visibility.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting Monitor key SEO metrics via Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, and SEMrush; create dashboards and insights on traffic, rankings, and ROI.
- Data-Driven Optimization Use analytics to uncover opportunities, test strategies, and refine SEO tactics for continuous growth and improved conversion performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Product, Engineering, UX/UI, and Content teams to embed SEO best practices across all digital initiatives.
- Stay Ahead of Trends Continuously research algorithm updates, emerging SEO technologies, and opportunities for synergy with CRO, paid search, and social channels.
What We’re Looking For
- SEO Experience & Performance Focus: 3+ years of SEO experience in lead-generation and performance-driven environments, with expertise in on-page optimization, content strategy, and link building.
Tools & Analytics Proficiency: Proficient in SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, and data visualization platforms.
CMS & Website Management: Experienced in managing and optimizing WordPress websites, ensuring SEO best practices are applied.
Communication & Project Management: Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders, and a self-starter managing multiple SEO initiatives simultaneously.
Extra Credit
- Agency to In-House Transition: Previous agency experience, now seeking full ownership of marketing initiatives in-house.
Paid Media Experience: Hands-on experience with Paid Search and Paid Social campaigns.
Email Marketing: Experience running email marketing campaigns using platforms like Mailchimp or similar.
